Top 50 AI products, by traffic

ChatGPT still leads. But the world’s most-visited generative AI products show how quickly AI is moving beyond the chatbot.

If you want to understand where AI is going, look at what people are actually using.

A Similarweb ranking of the top 50 generative AI web products by unique monthly visits in August 2026 puts ChatGPT at number one, followed by Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude.

No huge surprises there.

Look further down the list, however, and the AI landscape becomes much more interesting.

Canva is fourth. Notion is seventh. Google’s NotebookLM is ninth. Perplexity is 12th, Lovable 14th, Figma 15th and Microsoft’s Copilot 16th.

Further down sit Suno, CapCut, ElevenLabs, Cursor, Manus and Replit.

AI is starting to look less like a product category—and more like a feature embedded into almost everything we do online.

1. Chatbots still own the top

ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude occupy the first three positions.

That matters because despite the explosion of specialised AI products, the general-purpose assistant remains the dominant way many consumers interact with AI.

But competition is increasingly global.

China’s DeepSeek ranks fifth, while ByteDance’s Doubao sits tenth. Kimi comes in at 21 and Alibaba’s Qwen at 24.

The AI consumer market isn’t developing as a purely American race.

2. The next battle may be for your workflow

Some of the most interesting companies aren’t trying to replace ChatGPT.

They’re adding AI to something people already do.

  • CodeCursor#35
  • CodeReplit#48

Canva helps people design. Notion organises work. Figma builds digital products. CapCut edits video. ElevenLabs generates voice. Suno makes music. Cursor and Replit help people code.

That’s an important distinction for investors.

The eventual winners in AI may not necessarily be the companies with the most powerful standalone models.

They could also be businesses that own an existing workflow and use AI to make it dramatically better.

3. Google has distribution on its side

Perhaps the most striking corporate presence across the ranking belongs to Google.

Gemini is #2, NotebookLM #9 and Google AI Studio #11, while Google Labs and other experimental products also appear further down the list.

It illustrates one of Google’s biggest advantages in AI: distribution.

Google doesn’t have to build one winning AI product. It can weave AI across Search, Android, Workspace, Cloud and the products hundreds of millions of people already use.

Meta potentially has a similar advantage. Meta AI ranks #31—but its wider opportunity comes from integrating AI into WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and its emerging hardware ecosystem rather than relying solely on visits to a standalone website.

4. Traffic isn’t the same as a moat

There’s one important caveat.

Popularity doesn’t necessarily equal profitability.

A product can attract millions of users while spending heavily on computing and struggling to convert free users into paying customers.

Web traffic also doesn’t capture everything. Products increasingly accessed through mobile apps, APIs or embedded inside other software may look smaller than their actual usage suggests.

What this ranking showsWhere people’s attention is moving on the web.
What it doesn’t show
  • Profitability
  • Usage through mobile apps
  • Usage through APIs
  • AI embedded inside other software

So this ranking shouldn’t be read as a list of the 50 most valuable AI companies.

Instead, it offers something arguably more useful:

A snapshot of where people’s attention is moving.

And right now, that attention is spreading rapidly—from answering questions to designing, coding, researching, creating music, editing video and running businesses.

The first phase of consumer AI was about discovering what these models could do.

The next may be about barely noticing we’re using AI at all.
